Job Description

Build, oversee and manage the music program at Gloria Dei! for all services:  Sunday morning, special services, weddings, funerals and holidays.

Duties

• Provide organ and piano music.
• Develop, direct and accompany the adult and youth choirs. 
• Support and communicate with other church music groups. 
• Work with the Pastor on liturgy/music planning/rehearsing. 
• Maintain and develop a music library for all of the above. 
• Work with the Pastor and the Church Council on brainstorming and implementing ideas for a broader more in-depth music program as the church grows. 
• Prepare a music article for the monthly newsletter and provide music selections to the Parish Administrator for weekly bulletins. 
• Schedule piano/organ tunings.
• Prepare annual music budget for review by Church Council and maintain expense tracking.
• Coordinate absence coverage with Pastor:  hire substitutes and prepare music.
